The MEA region has 3 legal entities (Turkey, Morocco & South Africa) with respective country managers and exports to over 10 other countries as well. It implies complex supply chain including production facilities within and outside of the region. The countries with legal entities have a management team and shared services groups localized in the countries. In Kyiv, Ukraine there is a team of 100+ JDE associates that work with the JDE management and various support groups, as well as with the external partners.

 

Upon JDE start-up MEA has been a part of bigger sub-region within the global map. Proving to become one of the fastest growing geographies with potential to expand and grow even more, MEA is set to get dedicated General Manager now – with an intention to ensure proper focus and build up our management capabilities in the region. In your role as the General Manager for MEA, you will have ambitious growth plans to triple the business by 2020!

 

You will report directly to the President of EEMEA (Eastern Europe Middle East and Africa) Region, which is an Executive Committee member. You will lead a management team of business and functional heads in the area. In your role you are responsible for managing the business as a whole with P&L, Operating Working Capital and Marketing & Sales delivery objectives. The GM represents the company in the MEA sub-region and leads the statutory board.

 

During the recruitment process, a more detailed job description will be provided to you. The location of this position is to be determined upon contracting phase between your preferred location and the possibilities that JDE offers.

 

To be successful in this role, you will have 10+ years of experience in leading multi-functional commercial teams, of which 3+ years in the MEA region. Direct experience in/with South Africa, Turkey and/or Morocco is considered advantageous. You’ve gained this experience in Consumer Goods Sales, where you’ve worked with distributors’ based Route-To-Markets. You have a proven track record in managing growth focused businesses in developing markets and financial & cost management. Through emotional intelligence as well as genuine interest in diverse cultures you’ve been able to manage integrations, while successfully driving initiatives & change. You are ready to travel frequently and manage teams remotely.
