The Country Manager is responsible for managing the country/cluster P&L, drive the sell-in / sell-through / sell-out and profit margin objectives, from an end-to-end account management perspective, with team management. The Country Manager reports to the Area Director for Africa.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Lead the in country/cluster sales strategy to exceed the business results in the assigned country/cluster.
- Manage the country or cluster, sales, marketing and business development teams and ability to work in matrix functions to achieve the desired business results.
- Ability to execute innovative sales and marketing plans to create demand and sell-out for Alcatel products.
- Manage sales forecasts and product inventory levels “with a high degree of understanding on the impacts to the business.
- Business Management: Ownership of the Product Revenue and Margin Target
- Responsible for sales/margin/profit growth
- Analyze customer requirements and promote company products, achieving and increasing all targeted revenue and profit goals
- Responsible for following KPI’s: team revenue, market share of all his products, AR of all his accounts, inventory status and old stock of his products, consolidated profit for all his sales
- Identification and developing of cross-product opportunities
- Direction of the elaboration and maintenance of accounts/sectors strategic plans including competitive analysis
- Monitor competitor products, sales and marketing activities
- Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners
- Establish and maintain a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events
- Meet with clients, assisting sales team with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals
- Coordinate liaison between sales department and other sales related units
- Analyze and control expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements
- Prepares sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion
- Review and analyze sales performances against programs, quotes and plans to determine effectiveness
- Direct sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
- Monitor and evaluate performance of all sales activities across the accounts, together with competitive activity, ensuring any threats or issues are addresses and business targets are achieved.
- Maintain effective internal communication to ensure all internal stakeholders are kept informed.
Experience and Skills
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of mobile or telecommunication industry is mandatory.
- Must have a demonstrated track record of leading a business operations in large scale organizations and history of exceeding sales quotas over time.
- Should have experience in managing and leading a marketing professional.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and French is a must. Proficiency in Arabic
- would be preferable.

- Strong commercial and financial acumen; able to position the company and products; effectively manages the brand

- Ability to anticipate market trends , and being ahead of the curve to deliver and grow business
- Ability to work independent as well as in matrix team organization
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time within given region/country.
