The Contracts Manager will be responsible for the Contract management lifecycle for Contracts across Africa region.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Maintenance of Contractual Records;
  • Letter and notice writing;
  • Day to day assistance of the Management and Project teams operating in the Africa Region of the business;
  • Provide accurate reports and summaries to key Operations Leadership Staff (being part of OLS himself/herself);
  • Development of Country and Companywide procedures and policies;
  • Understanding of the placing/operation of insurance policies related to Projects undertaken (but not placing the insurances themselves); and,
  • Translation of Contract and other documents to high standard to facilitate both review, consideration and advice by others not fluent in French

PERFORMANCE MEASURES/SUCCESS CRITERIA

  • Concise and accurate advice as required which results in measurable income increase/savings on Projects;
  • Successful presentation of Contractual positions on behalf the Company; and,
  • Successful defence of Contractual Positions put forward by Clients.

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of proven contract management experience working on large-scale complex projects, in waste management, construction or a related industry;
  • Experience working on Africa/emerging markets projects with government entities; and,
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in a Commerce Law Degree/ Msc/LLM in Construction Law or Similar or Member of Institute of Chartered Arbitrators or Member of RICS – with a strong commercial background.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Fluent in English and French (written and spoken);
  • Ideally someone with law degree, who understand the commercial and contractual and has experience in contractual claims.
  • He will also handle documents in both English and French so it shall be very fluent in both languages and shall be able to do some translation works.
  • People coming from the construction industry and who are already in Morocco.
  • Arabic would be beneficial but not essential;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Exceptional negotiation skills;
  • Proven financial, commercial and legal acumen;
  • Ability to develop great working relationships with management teams, business units and clients;

Terms & Conditions

Work Location: Casablanca Morocco with some travel to Africa and the Middle East as required.

Contract: Direct Hire- Permanent

Status: Resident Single/Family

Work hours per day: 8 hrs/day

Work Days per Week: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day
