From that acquisition, a new location in Morocco, that has been part of Clarcor since 2007, is now embedded in the newly formed “Engine & Hydraulic Filtration” Division (EHFE), part of the Filtration Group EMEA.
Reporting to the Location Manager in Casablanca, the Operations Manager will be accountable for Plant operations to ensure a ‘safety first’ culture is in place that can deliver sustainable profitable growth for the business and achieve results identified through the strategy deployment process. The Manager will also have a broad responsibility and leadership for overall approximately 160 people via 8 direct reports responsible for Production & Production Planning, Material Control, Warehouse, Facilities and Maintenance. to lead the sales growth and business development plans with brand new developed accounts and existing customers.
More specifically, the role entails:Key Responsibilities:
- Ensures a ‘safety first’ culture and workplace exists.
- Supports a profitable growth by achieving Business Unit, Division and Corporate goals monthly, quarterly and annually.
- Establishes and maintains premier customer service by scheduling production to meet customer demands as measured by inventory, day supply, on-time delivery and production throughput.
- Leading strategy deployment for the operations concentrating on Lean Initiatives aiming at reducing operating costs, inventories and lead times through continuous improvements projects.
- Develops a budget plan and manages operations within budget constraints.
- Maintains quality standards to achieve customer and TS16949 requirements.
- Manages the interface with manufacturing engineering and inventory control personnel regarding process changes, NPI and methods for improving assembly efficiencies, productivity, and customer service in the plant.
- Drives a culture of accountability and results through strategy deployment and effective performance management.
- Develops & manages a dedicated multi skilled team to achieve world class manufacturing standards.
- Supports actively the Corporation’s Win Strategy.
Experience Required:
- University Degree combined with at least 8 to 10 years of experience acquired in a similar role in a large multinational group ideally from the automotive industry or similar.
- Previous experience in implementing & maintaining TS16949 certification is required as well as an in-depth knowledge & experience of Lean principles & their deployment in an industrial environment.
- Excellent communication skills in English, French & Arabic languages.
- Strong financial & business acumen combined with excellent analytical & problem-solving skills.
- Proven interpersonal skills to include the ability to influence and persuade at all levels within the organisation; build trust and confidence; and establish credibility
- Highest sense of ethics & business conduct.
