As our HSSE Manager, your main focus will be embedding that HSSE sits at the heart of everything we do across all business areas. Through providing strategic and dynamic leadership, you will create a continuous improvement, self-sustaining and values-led culture. Representing HSSE in operational let initiatives will also be part of your role and strong HSSE expertise and stakeholders’ management is a prerequisite for success. As HSSE Manager, you will provide the leadership and direction for a high performing HSSE business partner team. The position will report to HSSE Regional Head. Key responsibility will be collaborating with global HSSE team and functional expertise in APM Terminals HQ in respect of strategic leadership of HSSE policies, management systems, standard operating procedures and improvement initiatives. Further responsibility is ensuring compliance with current legislation, associated Codes and APMT Standards. The successful candidate must have a very sound business and commercial acumen, strong leadership and influencing skills. Strong passion for driving performance through people by being outside offices’ environment. Interpersonal skills and natural drive for seeking constant improvement are also vital for the role.

Key Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities will be as the following: – Collaborate with the Business Partner community (Leadership Team) to co-create an HSSE vision, strategy and improvement plan, considering the regulatory framework, risk profile, compliance level and business drivers. – Challenging and supporting business decisions with analytical rigor, insights and judgments to ensure HSSE perspectives are regarded when decisions are made. – Acting as a catalyst between the Business and HSSE so there is synchronized thinking and an understanding of each other’s’ information requirements, challenges and priorities. – Locally & globally collaborating with specialist teams to develop a culture of personnel safety, provide feedback & help to identify continuous improvement opportunities. – Provide a framework within which performance against the HSSE agenda can be monitored, awareness can be raised on risks to the business, support and traction can be obtained for resolution of issues via quantitative and qualitative HSSE leading and lagging data. – Ensure execution of the strategy and vision of the Business Unit, with a special focus on contractors’ management, risk management, incidents investigation and assurance programs at a tactical level. – Build a strong team by attracting & retaining talent, leading and coaching the team to deliver through a business partnering model fostering interdepartmental collaboration.
We are looking for
HSSE leader with NEBOSH Diploma qualification (or equivalent), preferably CMIOSH. Bachelor degree in management is required or equivalent. 8 to 10 years’ work experience in HSSE roles with a minimum of 5 years’ leadership experience in a similar position. Working language is English but ability to communicate verbally in Arabic and French is needed.
