Role Summary
The successful Commercial Manager candidate will be part of the MENAT Steam Power Core Services Sales commercial team, providing expert leadership and Commercial support to the Power Steam Sales Deal Team to drive growth of the MENAT region for core steam services including parts, repairs, outage management and simple upgrades, with a laser focus on these both for our own fleet as well as for OEMs
Essential Responsibilities
As a Commercial Manager you will
- Develop proposals; negotiate with customers; ensure deals deliver customer and shareholder
value and drive competitive pricing.
- Lead business development planning processes for this market
- Qualify opportunities and develop budgetary and firm proposals. Leading the development and
proposal efforts and supporting customer negotiations.
- Provide commercial support at Deal Review including risk assessment/mitigation, terms and
conditions, financial analysis, and pricing strategy.
- Work closely with the Steam New Build and Complex Service Upgrades team on joint strategy
reviews for new units opportunities
- Provide primary interface with field sales on all contractual related issues during opportunity
development through the full sales and approval process (DealReview Process).
- Understand and communicate risk and associated mitigation strategies for opportunities with all
stakeholders.
- Drafting and negotiation of contracts, and, in particular finding solutions to close negotiation gaps
with the customers
- Provide price tracking and trending analysis for Steam Power Core Services products to enable
market based decisions during the Deal Reviews.
- Support achievement of commercial team metrics related to orders and margins that minimize
margin erosion
- Support handover meetings with OTR to accurately depict the As-Sold pricing and scope of
supply.
- Position will require travel as needed to support the above activities.
Qualifications/Requirements
Engineering Degree from an accredited college5 years of experience in steam power generation or energy related industryFluency in French – written and oral with an emphasis written contractual FrenchExperience in contract administration principles in the power industryDemonstrated leadership and negotiation skills on complex contractual and technical mattersProcess focus, with proven successAbility to connect with people at remote sites and gain consensus with multiple stakeholdersAbility to manage multiple transactions and prioritize simultaneouslyAbility to work both autonomously and as part of a team as circumstances dictateClear thinkerDemonstrated Inclusive behavior with strong ability to connect with and influence co-workersIn-depth Steam/Gas Turbines experienceTeam player.Effective communication.Customer-focused mindset with proven ability to respond quickly to customer needs.Strong oral and written communication skills in English language.Self-motivated
