Role Overview

In line with this ambition, Janssen is aiming at providing optimized and timely access to its innovative portfolio ranging across key Disease Areas Strongholds (Oncology, Hematology, Immunology, CNS and PAH).

NEMA cluster is a very diverse region within EM region with many challenges and opportunities and high medical and access needs to be addressed through differentiated and innovative initiatives.

The NEMA MA director will be responsible to ensure timely and broad access for Janssen innovative portfolio across NEMA by setting a comprehensive regional market access & pricing strategy and governance in close coordination and alignment with global and regional HEMAR strategy at EMEA/EM level.

As an NLT member, he/she will be responsible to ensure the right level of support and focus to unlock access and address the Company objective to optimize access to Janssen innovative product portfolio in line with MTP/BP priorities and be a key healthcare player in the region.

This approach must be done in collaboration with local OPCOs, especially country leads and local Market Access managers, to support implementation of their local Access plans, through robust partner’s engagement plans, strong end-to-end value stories and innovative access schemes to ensure successful and timely reimbursement for our innovative portfolio locally.

The incumbent will also engage dedicatedly during country visits with relevant external partners (authorities, governments, payers, and other key decision-makers) to have a comprehensive understanding of local situation and ensure a finetuned regional strategy fitting for purpose.

He/she will also contribute to build credible health economic arguments and datas across the region to strengthen our value stories and reinforce our position as a trustable healthcare partner.

Building capacity buildings across NEMA Market Access & pricing team will also be one of his/her main responsibility.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive Market Access & pricing road map for the cluster, focusing on key initiatives and priorities in line with Business priorities
  • Implement pricing governance and strategy within the cluster in line with EM, EMEA, and Global guidance, and in collaboration with local OPCo’s
  • Support and coordinate elaboration and effective implementation of innovative access schemes and patient access programs locally through robust business cases validation internally
  • Facilitate collaboration with EM and EMEA HEMAR & Pricing teams to ensure right level of support and focus for NEMA
  • Ensure Capability Building across NEMA organization by addressing skill gaps that need to be filled to enable an optimal market access through consistent training curriculum and training plan: HEMAR, Medical, partner’s engagement plans
  • Develop (and where relevant recruit) key talent to drive market access strategy and projects to reinforce NEMA HEMAR organization.
  • Ensure appropriate access for Janssen products within public and private institutions, including strategic tendering approach
  • Ensure accelerated access, in collaboration local and regional HEMAR and regulatory teams by demonstrating any opportunities to be implemented in the countries.
  • Contribute to driving the debate externally on critical topics that impact access (Price of innovation, IP…) in collaboration with Governmental affairs and country leads.
  • Support BP & MTP exercise review in collaboration with other NLT members
  • Monitor NEMA MA & pricing activities and performance based on key KPIs using specific tracking tool
  • Communicate internally and when relevant externally on key NEMA MA achievements and value projects

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years in pharma / biotech experience
  • Extensive regional travel
  • Fluent in English and French, Arabic is a plus
  • Good regional knowledge and ability to navigate in a VUCA environment
  • Full understanding of the implications of different business models from 3rd party distributor to fully fledged OpCo.
  • Good ability to work across groups in a coordinating role without direct line authority
  • Proven strong strategic and business building skills
  • Strong collaboration skills: engage with other NEMA functions and EM/EMEA HEMAR
  • Development and execution of regional Market Access & pricing strategy and local access plans
  • BA/BS degree in science and/or business-related discipline, or equivalent
  • Good knowledge of health economic tools is a plus
